  • Encounter Resources initiated a 70,000-metre drilling programme at its Aileron project in Western Australia.
  • The exploration update provides the market with clear asset timelines across priority mining and exploration targets.
  • The campaign aims to upgrade the existing mineral resource estimate and identify new regional discoveries.

Encounter Resources (ASX:ENR) confirmed that it has two active aircore drilling rigs running as part of a 70,000-metre exploration programme at its Aileron Project.

This follows an April announcement noting that the Aileron resources had grown by over 50% to 120 million tonnes.

“The company is continuing to build strong momentum at the Aileron niobium-REE Project,” said Encounter Resources Executive Chairman Will Robinson.

The 2026 programme includes 30,000m of infill drilling at the Green prospect alongside 40,000m of regional exploration drilling.

The company stated that a third multi-purpose rig will be mobilised to the site in the third quarter of 2026 to support project development studies.

Following the announcement, the Encounter Resources share price was unchanged at $0.25.

The asset holds a mining lease application lodged over the proposed processing and infrastructure footprint.

The business also continues its technical, environmental, and permitting workstreams to support the future development of the West Arunta site.
