PMET Resources (ASX:PMT) has executed a non-binding letter of intent with the Cree Nation of Chisasibi to establish an engagement framework for its 100%-owned Shaakichiuwaanaan Project in Quebec, Canada.

The agreement formalises discussions following exploration activities in 2025 where approximately 25% of the site workforce comprised local Cree community members.

"As the company continues the review, permitting, and planning process for the project, the LOI provides a framework for continued engagement, discussion, and information sharing with Chisasibi," said PMET Resources CEO and Managing Director Ken Brinsden.

Under the arrangement, both parties intend to establish specialised working groups focused on training, employment, local economic growth, environmental oversight, and transportation logistics.

Following the announcement, the PMET Resources share price was up at $0.47.

The business continues to progress project planning across Category III Lands in the Eeyou Istchee James Bay region while respecting local decision-making protocols.

The agreement builds on ongoing community engagement initiatives that PMET Resources has conducted across its Canadian lithium exploration sites since 2022.
