Saunders International wins $23M defence infrastructure project

Saunders International (ASX:SND) has secured a head contract valued at approximately $23 million with the Australian Department of Defence.
The contract covers infrastructure works at the Australian Leased Facilities located at RMAF Base Butterworth in Penang, Malaysia.
"Securing this head contract with the Australian Department of Defence is an important milestone for Saunders and reflects the capability and trusted relationships we have built," said Saunders International Managing Director and CEO Angelo De Angelis.
The project scope encompasses off-site fabrication, construction, installation, and commissioning of fuel storage, transfer systems, and associated civil and electrical infrastructure.
The project will draw on the company’s multidisciplinary engineering units to upgrade the resilience and operational readiness of the existing defence fuel facility.
Following the announcement, the Saunders International share price was unchanged at $1.05.
The group stated that the award supports its ongoing strategy to expand its market presence across specialised defence and government sectors throughout the region.
The contract reinforces the company's focus on engineering, building, and sustaining critical infrastructure across complex operational environments.
