Stockland (ASX:SGP) has appointed Robert Johnston as the incoming chairman of the board, effective following the conclusion of its annual general meetings on Oct. 19.
The board succession process follows current Chairman Tom Pockett's previous decision to retire from his position at the end of his term in October.
“Following a rigorous succession process, the Board unanimously determined that Bob is well placed to lead the Board through Stockland's next phase of growth,” said Stockland Chairman Tom Pockett.
Johnston, who joined the board in October 2024, brings over 30 years of experience across property investment, development, and funds management platforms.
Following the announcement, the Stockland share price was unchanged at $4.14.
The diversified Australian property group continues to focus on developing master-planned communities, logistics hubs, and workplace precincts nationwide.
Prior to joining the property group's board, Johnston served as CEO of GPT and Managing Director of Frasers Property Australia.
