
Vulcan Energy begins civil construction on 30MW plant
- Civil construction has begun at the 30MW Lionheart geothermal power plant in Landau, Germany.
- Vulcan Energy shares fell 3.7% to $2.59 following the announcement.
- The facility aims to produce 24,000 tonnes of lithium hydroxide annually alongside renewable energy.
Vulcan Energy (ASX:VUL) has commenced civil construction activities at its 30MW Lionheart geothermal power plant in Germany.
The work follows early bulk earthworks and precedes building erection and process equipment assembly at the site.
"It is encouraging to see Lionheart project execution progress on time," said Vulcan Energy Managing Director and CEO Cris Moreno.
The company stated that the site targets annual production of 24,000 tonnes of lithium hydroxide monohydrate.
Following the announcement, the Vulcan Energy share price was down at $2.59.
The ten-hectare facility sits in the Messegelände Südost industrial park within the Upper Rhine Valley Brine Field.
The project integrates renewable geothermal power generation with low-carbon lithium extraction over an estimated 30-year life.
