Gemini has launched a new Zcash-themed credit card that allows users to earn rewards in the privacy-focused token ZEC with every purchase.
The Gemini Credit Card Zcash Edition adds to the exchange’s lineup of Bitcoin, Solana and XRP-branded cards, with ZEC now ranked among the top 10 reward assets chosen by cardholders.
“Privacy is normal and a precondition to your freedom and self-sovereignty,”
Gemini co-founder Tyler Winklevoss said in a post on X.
Gemini said cardholders who opted to receive rewards in ZEC and held them for at least one year saw their holdings appreciate by more than 900%, while users can choose rewards across more than 50 supported crypto assets.
Like the firm’s other cards, the Zcash Edition carries no annual fee and offers up to 4% back in automatic crypto rewards on eligible purchases.
The launch follows Gemini’s broader push into payments infrastructure, including exploring the use of Ripple’s dollar-backed stablecoin RLUSD for credit card settlement and backing a Zcash treasury firm in November.
ZEC has risen more than 750% over the past year despite recent volatility, while Gemini shares have fallen sharply since the company’s public listing and its long-running SEC Earn case was dismissed earlier this week.
At the time of reporting, Zcash price was $372.18.
