
Ripple invests in Zilo and Licuido for tokenisation

Ripple made strategic investments in UK-based Zilo and Licuido to expand tokenised financial assets on the XRP Ledger (CRYPTO:XRP).
Financial terms were not disclosed, while Zilo has raised US$58.7 million in total equity funding.
Ripple expects the investments to add regulated transfer services, token issuance and collateral movement to its XRPL infrastructure.
The company said the investments could allow tokenised funds to serve as collateral from the point they are issued.
The deals follow Aviva Investors' launch of a tokenised share class of its US Dollar Liquidity Fund on XRPL.
XRPL holds US$368 million in tokenised real-world assets, compared with US$17.1 billion on Ethereum (CRYPTO:ETH).
At the time of reporting, XRP price was $1.08.
