Startale Group will integrate Sunnyside Labs’ Privacy Boost into its Soneium app, enabling private crypto transfers with compliance controls on the Sony-linked blockchain network.
The upgrade introduces self-custodial privacy features including shielded balances, private peer-to-peer transfers and privacy-enabled payments, expanding user control over visible onchain activity.
“This means AML and regulatory obligations can be met without requiring all activity to be publicly transparent,”
Said Sunnyside Labs co-founder and CEO Taem Park.
The system uses an Audit View feature that keeps transactions hidden from the public while allowing authorised operators to access data for compliance, creating a hybrid privacy model.
This approach raises questions about control, as users rely on operator permissions and system governance to determine when private transaction data can be accessed.
Following the announcement the Startale Group share price was unchanged at $XX.
The design mirrors similar selective disclosure systems used by privacy-focused networks while aligning with industry views that hybrid models may offer the most practical balance between privacy and regulation.
