Acumen Pharmaceuticals (NASDAQ:ABOS) executed its exclusive option to develop and manufacture two Alzheimer's disease treatment candidates using the proprietary blood-brain barrier (BBB)-penetrating platform from JCR Pharmaceuticals (TSE:4552).

This agreement expands upon a partnership initiated in July 2025, which focuses on combining JCR's J-Brain Cargo technology with Acumen’s amyloid beta oligomer-selective antibodies.

JCR Pharmaceuticals is entitled to receive an upfront option payment, followed by potential development milestones of up to US$40 million and sales milestones of up to US$515 million.

The collaboration intends to file an investigational new drug application by mid-2027 to begin formal clinical evaluation of these candidates.
