Boeing’s (NYSE:BA) delivery introduces the first operating 737 MAX in Tajikistan and the first of two leased 737-8 aircraft for Somon Air.

The Boeing (NYSE:BA) 737-8 can carry up to 210 passengers and fly up to 3,500 nautical miles, equivalent to 6,480 kilometres.

Boeing (NYSE:BA) said the 737-8 is expected to reduce fuel use and carbon emissions by 20% compared with the aircraft it replaces.

Somon Air committed to purchase up to 14 Boeing (NYSE:BA) aircraft, comprising four 787-9 Dreamliners and ten 737-8 jets.

Boeing shares were down 2.16% at $216.14 in the latest premarket trading.
Somon Air said the aircraft will support fleet renewal, new routes and improved operating efficiency.

Boeing (NYSE:BA) delivered Somon Air’s first 737-8, introducing Tajikistan’s first operating 737 MAX and supporting the airline’s network expansion.

The aircraft is the first of two 737-8 jets Somon Air agreed to lease from Dubai Aerospace Enterprise during 2026.

The 737-8 can carry up to 210 passengers and travel 3,500 nautical miles, or 6,480 kilometres, depending on configuration.

Boeing said the aircraft could reduce fuel consumption and carbon emissions by 20% versus replaced jets.

Following the announcement, Boeing's share price was down 2.16% at $216.14.

Somon Air currently operates six older 737 aircraft across 29 destinations in Europe, Asia and the Middle East.

The airline also committed in November 2025 to purchase up to four 787-9s and ten additional 737-8 aircraft from Boeing.
