CNA Financial delivers $321 million quarterly profit

CNA Financial (NYSE:CNA) reported second-quarter net income of $321 million, or $1.18 per share, up from $299 million a year earlier.

Core income declined from $335 million to $324 million, while net investment income increased from $662 million to $701 million.

P&C premiums rose 4%, new business reached $718 million and the combined ratio increased from 94.1% to 96.5%.

CNA said it remains focused on disciplined growth and prudent reserves

Life & Group recorded a $10 million core loss, while Corporate & Other’s core loss improved from $114 million to $92 million.

Book value excluding AOCI reached $45.83 per share, while CNA declared a $0.48 dividend payable on September 3, 2026.
