The company’s book value per common share increased by $0.30 from $12.60 at the end of the first quarter, while dividends declared were $0.51 per share.
Dynex reported comprehensive income and net income of $0.80 per common share, with liquidity of $1.6 billion in cash and unpledged securities representing 51% of total equity.
The company’s investment portfolio reached $27.6 billion, including $26.1 billion in Agency residential mortgage-backed securities and $1.4 billion in Agency commercial mortgage-backed securities.
Meanwhile, Dynex reduced leverage including to-be-announced securities to 8.1 times shareholders’ equity from 8.6 times in the previous quarter and raised $391 million through its at-the-market equity programme.
