Ford takes 66% of Geely Valencia venture

Ford Motor (NYSE:F) and Geely Auto agreed to establish a Europe-focused manufacturing venture at Ford’s Valencia plant.

The venture targets the plant’s approximately 500,000-vehicle annual capacity, with operations expected to begin during the first half of 2027.

Ford will own 66% and Geely 34%, while vehicle production is scheduled to begin in 2028 after regulatory approvals.

The plant will continue producing the Ford Kuga before adding two Ford models and two Geely-branded electric SUVs.

Following the announcement, Ford Motor's share price was up 0.9% at $14.42 in the latest available trading.

Ford said the venture supports its plan to introduce five multi-energy European passenger vehicles by 2029, including a compact Bronco-family SUV.

Geely reported 474,228 overseas sales during the first half of 2026, up 158%, as it expanded into additional international markets.
