
Kosmos Energy posts $185 million quarterly profit
- Kosmos Energy reported second-quarter net income of $185 million, reversing its $88 million loss from a year earlier.
- Kosmos Energy shares rose 16.57% to 204.00 pence in London morning trading following the results.
- The company said higher production, lower costs and asset sales supported debt reduction of more than $400 million.
Kosmos Energy (NYSE:KOS) reported second-quarter net income of $185 million, or $0.31 per diluted share, as production reached about 71,400 boepd.
The result reversed an $88 million loss in the second quarter of 2025, while revenue increased to $607 million from $393 million.
Adjusted net income was $68 million, production costs fell about 25% to $179 million, capital expenditure was $105 million and free cash flow reached approximately $89 million.
Kosmos said it was progressing toward its approximately 20% annual debt-reduction target.
Following the announcement, Kosmos Energy's share price was up 16.57% at 204 pence.
Meanwhile, the company completed the $127 million sale of its Equatorial Guinea production assets and used the proceeds to reduce borrowings under its lending facility.
Kosmos also lifted nine GTA LNG cargos, advanced gross production to about 2.65 mtpa and farmed down Tiberius for cash, carried development spending and milestone payments.
