RedHill Biopharma initiates enforcement of $10.9M judgment against Kukbo in Korea

RedHill Biopharma (NASDAQ:RDHL) announced on June 8, 2026, that it has officially commenced recognition and enforcement proceedings in South Korea to collect on a final judgment awarded by the New York Supreme Court against Kukbo.

The total amount sought is approximately $10.9 million, encompassing an $8.9 million principal judgment and roughly $1.95 million in legal fees and expenses, both inclusive of 9% statutory interest.

The enforcement action follows a multi-year breach of contract dispute originating from an Exclusive License Agreement (ELA) and Subscription Agreement between the two parties.

The New York Supreme Court previously ruled in favor of RedHill, determining that Kukbo failed to make contractually required payments.

After the conclusion of all appeal deadlines in March 2026, the judgment—covering both the primary award and the subsequently finalized legal fees—is now considered final, with no further opportunities for appeal available to the defendant.

RedHill has already secured a Korean court attachment grant, a precautionary measure designed to prevent Kukbo from disposing of assets while the enforcement proceedings are underway.

Having now successfully served the complaint in Korea, the company is awaiting a formal response from Kukbo and subsequent scheduling by the Korean court.
