Republic Bancorp (NASDAQ:RBCAA) reported second-quarter net income of $32.9 million, up 4%, while diluted EPS reached $1.68.

The results compared with a net income of $31.5 million and diluted EPS of $1.61 one year earlier.

Traditional Banking loans rose $59 million, while Core Bank net interest income increased 7% and its margin reached 4.02%.

Republic expects its new payment program to add over $150 million in average deposits.

Republic launched the payment program in June to diversify funding, improve liquidity and generate additional fee income.

The company raised its Class A quarterly dividend 10% in January and reported first-quarter profit of $42.6 million.
