Rocket Lab wins $266m Space Force contract

Rocket Lab (NASDAQ:RKLB) won a $266 million Space Force contract covering 12 suborbital vehicles and six optional launches.
The competitive award received three offers and initially obligates $112 million of fiscal 2025 research and development funding.
Work will occur at the Pacific Spaceport Complex–Alaska and is scheduled for completion by December 31, 2028.
The government did not identify the launch vehicle, payloads or national-security programmes supported by the individual missions.
The Alaska work expands Rocket Lab’s defence launch footprint.
Following the announcement, Rocket Lab's share price was up 3% at $71.17.
Rocket Lab previously secured a $190 million contract covering 20 HASTE hypersonic test flights over four years.
Recent Space Force work includes a $90 million satellite contract and the completed VICTUS HAZE responsive-space mission.
